M and me

I just re-found this shot which was one of the first colour photos I took of Marie in the summer of 1970 quite soon after we met. We were on holiday on Brownsea Island, Dorset, staying in a hostel on the the nature reserve.

 

Her silver waist chain held a one shilling (5p in modern currency) coin we had found on Studland Beach a month before this. Some years later Juliet "borrowed" it...

 

Tech. note: taken on Agfa CT18 slide film. I didn't stay with this much as I preferred the richer colours and better latitude of Kodachrome, but the fresh Agfa colours (particularly blues) were quite charming and especially suited seaside scenes.

 

PS (Oct.2015) After making the link to this photo from the other one taken at the time I realised that the old scan was rather poor quality so here is an new one using the splendid Vuescan app (with my original Nikon LS-5000) and multiscanning which has dramatically improved the highlight gradation...
