Burdens rain in ink on this page,
As my hand pens my farewell
And a hardened heart comes of age.
Pray thee Lord wisdom takes hold,
As you release pain's spell
And set truth to lies told.
May the words I finally say
Break ties to malice and hate,
And bring light to my dark days.
For this release lasting left
Finally give I and accept my fate
As my last closet is swept.
Hold close this last testament
Of lessons I'll always keep,
Of years in heartache yet spent.
For lasting grace comes from above,
And another like you I'll someday meet.
Till then, I bid you farewell my love.
