Transitioning | by johnwporter

A thin snow bridge at the end of its lifecycle on the hogback at the head of Fremont Glacier. Earlier in the season it would have been used by climbers to transition from snow onto rocks to avoid possible fall into the bottomless moat (gap between snow and rocks). It would have been a deal breaker for this trip had I not been able to get on rocks. Fortunately with a giant step onto a ledge from where the photo was taken, I managed to continue onward.
