I’ve been to Valley View before, at sunset, but never had any clouds to play with. Not only that, but I was really hoping for some snow-covered rocks in the foreground. Didn’t get it. But what I did get was a beautiful purple twilight color, and then just as the near full moon rose, a cloud flew in front of it making it look like a comet. Pretty darn cool. There were a few others out there, but this was the only spot I saw that had a perfectly still reflection of El Capitan and I even managed to get a little reflection of the moon for bonus points.
