Radiants

I live about 8 miles from the beach and the last couple of months I haven’t gone at all. Leaving work yesterday I saw some brilliant high cirrus clouds, so Cameron suggested we head to the beach. Plus there were at least 11 contrails all radianting from the same source just lingering in the sky. I even heard from people as far south as San Diego who saw them.

We ended up at Leo Carrillo during a VERY windy high tide. Never seen it this high before. And the wind was so… windy. And when you’re trying to do a landscape shot at sunset near the water, wind blows! I had to continually clean my filters from the mist and the sun was dipping down fast.

So this is a vertorama of 3 shots. Actually I bracketed 18 shots, chose 3 of them and then manually blended them together, then did a little saturation boost using Optikverve’s Virtual Photographer.

The birds and everything else here is completely real. I’m pretty happy with it considering the wind, coldness, dead sea lions, water splashing very close to me, and I was hungry.

Have a glorious day. Join my Facebook Fan Page if you feel so inclined. I try to post daily
