This is the pink pearl apple.
It is very tart and not very sweet. Most fruits with novel colors don't taste very good, but I liked these. They weren't juicy though, but they weren't outright dry either. I think they were getting a bit too ripe sitting on my shelf, so the crunch was in decline.
The tops of these specimens all had some sort of damage. I'm not sure if it is from birds pecking them or some just rupturing of the skin from natural growth. It is visible as the brown spot in the apple just right of the stem. This is after I cut off most of it.
