Studio stack: Tiny Long Horned Beetle
Pogonocherus hispidus, Cerambycidae
Slightly less than 5mm in total body length – one of the tiniest long horned beetles in the world.
This species is fairly common in Sweden but this specimen was sent to me from Hungary by my friend and excellent photographer Nikola Rahmé (I highly recommend visiting his photostream!) who found it lying dead but well preserved on the snow a couple of weeks ago.
This was shot at approximately 12:1 and stacked from 254 exposures in Zerene Stacker (PMAX).
