Eristalinus aenus, female, 11mm (Syrphidae) on Dasiphora fruticosa
I've seen a lot of Eristalinus this summer. This specimen is the only one I've come across that has red eye spots – they're usually dark brown or black.
This and the shots presented below are all handheld single exposures (no stacking) made with a bellows mounted Zeiss Luminar 63/4.5.
