Hamilton Park, Weehawken, NJ: Manhattan, the Photographer and his Lady Friend Helper
On the same day as my previous Hamilton Park photo, I was able to capture the Manhattan skyline at the peak of the Golden Hour with a photographer and his helpful lady friend in the foreground. The woman must be encouraging him to capture the beautiful clouds near the Empire State Building.
This photo was taken about 15 minutes before sunset. The sun was setting behind me. A hill behind me keeps the park in the shadows while the sun still shines a golden yellow color on the skyscrapers in Manhattan. So, the foreground and the couple are nearly silhouettes when you expose the camera for the skyline.
It is a lot more challenging to capture the Manhattan skyline in the right light while also timing an interesting candid shot of people in the foreground. I was really pleased to have captured their interaction as a couple while she is pointing to the focal point of the composition.
