"Michigan's Caribbean" (The Coves) Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore

I've been in the Caribbean before , it's great...but I'll take Michigan's pristine unspoiled beaches and shorelines any day. These coves along pictured rocks are fascinating and gorgeous. This one makes a great desktop wallpaper.

Yes, the unspoiled aspect blows the Caribbean out of the water. Although they are the clear winner for water temperature!

Your stunning photos make me almost want to move to Michigan. And before I saw the title of the photo, I thought it was a picture of someplace in the Caribbean.

Gorgeous capture! How do you get there, and how far do you have to walk? I'm planning another Pictured Rocks trip, and I'd LOVE to see this cove.
  • John McCormick 4y

Megan Noble The hike to the coves starts at the beaver basin wilderness area. The trail head starts near little beaver lake campground. It is about a 2 mile hike one way to this cove, and a half mile or so further up the trail is spray falls.
