Aylesford Priory, Aylesford, Kent.


This Grade 11 Listed Barn was built sometime in The 1600's. It is now used as a shop and tearooms for Aylesford Priory.

Aylesford Priory is believed to be the oldest Carmelite House in England. It was founded in 1242 by the first Carmelites to come from the Holy Land, under the patronage of the crusader Richard de Grey.

It is now a refuge, a conference centre and a place of pilgrimage .It receives about 250,000 pilgrims a year. It is a very peaceful place to visit.
