christmas garland and Fuyumi

This is an 'advent garland' I made which you can use for decorations and to countdown the last week before Christmas. The build-up to Christmas is my favourite time of winter, so it seems appropriate to celebrate it! Each of the 7 stars is a pocket, which fasten with a snap fastener. The stars have the numbers 18 - 24 on one side, and an applique and a button on the other. I've made a little bunny brooch called Fuyumi to "hop" from one star to the next as it gets nearer Christmas. She wears a red hat and cape which i've embroidered with french knots and beads. You could also put little gifts or sweets etc in each star pocket to be opened on each morning of the week before Christmas. The stars are not permanently attached to the red braid, so you can take them off and hang them individually on your tree or anywhere else you like.

Fuyumi is a Japanese name I like, which means "winter fruit".
