      Wow nice job !!
Could you explain how you get to use the token icon for google chrome in the taskbar ? I can use it on the desktop but when I launch the app, the normal icon always come back. The same problem occurs with firefox or jdownloader, maybe it's related to their dynamic behaviour (e.g when download something).

Hi, Firstly congratz on your lifehacker feature.
Really nice desktop - I want to know how you have center aligned your taskbar applications?

There are indeed some applications which do ignore a different icon in the settings of the desktop shortcut, but Chrome and Firefox both should work without bringing the original icon up. Best try again from scratch, get rid of Chrome in the taskbar, create a new shortcut to chrome.exe on the desktop, allign a different icon, pin shortcut to taskbar, start Chrome.

      heiho XCrunner 22,
      that is relatively simple.
First create a new, empty folder in C:\Users\Yourusername\Documents -> and name it "whateveryoulike".
Unlock your taskbar by right-click and uncheck -> Taskbar Fixation
Then just right-click your windows Taskbar -> Toolbar -> New Toolbar -> and choose the empty folder you have just created!
Now just mover over your "whateveryoulike" toolbar to the left of the taskbar and adjust the center with the double lines you see. When all good, again right click and uncheck "Show Text" and " Show Title". Then fix the taskbar again!

      Hi Joergermeister,
Thanks for the tip ! But it allows me to get the custom icon on the taskbar. But when I click it, it acts like a weird shortcut since the application opens up with its original icon next to it. So I then have on the taskbar the custom icon and the original one (which is "pushed" as the app is open). When I close the software, the original icon disappears with it.
      Very weird...

ok, then we'll need the sledgehammer :-) Please check the end of this tutorial, allthough it is in german, I guess you get what it is about, replacing the original icon within the program's .exe file. www.joergermeister.de/2011/pimp-my-desktop/anleitung-pimp...
