My Heart Beats

My heart beats

It thunders through my body like a steam train

A repetition of sound and energy filling my limbs with action

Each beat pushing me further, faster, further, faster.

My heart beats like a steam train.

My heart beats

It rocks inside my chest like a sailboat

I feel it lulling in my body when I sleep.

Drifting like on water, silent movements in the night.

My heart beats like a sailboat.

My heart beats

Rages inside my veins like a forest fire

Igniting sparks inside my mind and soul.

Coating my thoughts in fiery action, hurling light towards the sky.

My heart beats like a forest fire.

My heart beats like a steam train.

A sailboat.

A forest fire.

My heart beats.

I'm excited to reveal a new collaboration with my good friend Cameron Bushong. We've decided to not only work on a series of images together but we've added another element, the element of writing. Each image will be inspired by (or inspire) a poem that we've written based on a certain theme or subject, this first subject is Heartbeat. You can check out Cameron's image on his photostream!

This theme couldn't have come at a better time, a time when I feel my heart is strong and pushing me to find what I really want in my life. It knows where I should go, it's just convincing the rest of my body to follow.
