Z is for Zen
The forest is my zen place. Yesterday while tucked into a coffee shop with a friend, I was expaining to her how at peace I feel when I'm in the trees. I feel like I'm breathing deeper, that my blood is richer and that my head is clearer when I'm surrounded by nature.
It has been snowing for about two days straight now and this afternoon I decided (despite doctor's orders to rest for a week) to go out and enjoy the quiet solitude that a snow covered forest brings. I brought out my snowshoes and made tracks in the snow for a few hours, the sun peeking through clouds and branches. Now that I'm home and my fingers have thawed, my head feels happy that I went out and took those frosted mountain breaths but my ribs don't quite have the same positive reflection.
