Flying South

When you think about it, leaves are kind of like birds. Or the other way around. They're always changing, and always a fixture of the sky and trees. Most people probably don't even notice all the birds and leaves around them (well, I notice the birds but mostly because they freak me out). Birds, just like the leaves, tend to vanish in the fall heading for something new. The birds will come back to start their new generations while the leaves break down and feed the forest that supports the birds. The circle of life I suppose.

Funny things happened while I was taking this, but it was a good kind of funny. The kind of funny that makes me feel good about taking photos in the woods. Having a chipmunk drop pinecones onto my backpack, a student from the high school walking by saying she missed having me in her class, a fireman telling me that there was better light just around the corner. Life is good :)
