Jon Anderson October '78

    Newer Older

Yes concert, October 6, 1978 at the Inglewood Forum. Olympus OM-1 with a rented 500mm parabolic lens, ASA 400 Kodak film. Floor seats about 30 rows back. They weren't allowing cameras, but I was late coming in (I remembered the tickets around Malibu, and had to go back to Santa Barbara to get them, D'Oh!) so had no problem just striding in like I was supposed to have one. IIRC. Concert details.

      This is a rare photo.
Jon Anderson on electric harp for the song 'Awaken'.
The 'In The Round' tours were excellent back then and Yes has always been known for top performance and sound quality. Thank my luck stars that I grew up with YES.
When I first heard Awaken, it changed my perspective as a musician. Led Zep was trashed and serious study began with Yes and Steve Howe. Yes also opened my mind toward Pat Metheny, McLaughlin, DiMeola, Paco De Lucia among others.
The YES 35th anniversary tour was just as great as earlier concerts.
YES music... greatest talent, best performances, most enduring.

Great unique pic,I was there at the London shows of the same tour. Still to this day, my greatest musical experience.
