Raven Totem at Ketchikan's Cape Fox Lodge
Tlingit Master Carver Lee Wallace created this Raven Totem. It's one of six 12-foot cedar poles on the grounds of Ketchikan's Cape Fox Lodge.
Totems originated among the native people living along the rugged coastline of Alaska's Southeast Coast.
Many Tlingit stories describe how the Old Ones, led by Raven, traveled from a faraway place to the land of frozen glaciers.
