Crater Lake, OR

Occupying the dormant volcanic caldera of Mount Mazama in Oregon, Crater Lake is the deepest lake in the US at over 1900' deep. The lake owes its blue color to the depth and exceptional clarity of the water; with no rivers in or out, the water lost due to evaporation is replenished by rainfall and over 500 inches of snow melt per year.
