His older books have come down in price over the last couple years. I think I paid ~49 bucks apiece for the first three. (Some Amazon deal.)

These books are expensive because their production quality is incredible and Tufte prints them himself to maintain quality standards. If you think the price is too high, then wait 2 or 3 years and you'll probably be able to pick it up for $30.

is that a mark lombardi diagram on the left?

Oops, I deleted the comment that soldierant responded to. I complained about the $52 price of this book, and then, obviously, had second thoughts about it. :)

the first thing to come out of my mouth when i saw the pic was "ooh mark lombardi!".

yeah, i said it out loud. good thing no one was here to hear me. why'm i telling you all?

also - love the full-page bleed. i don't recall that in any of the other books.

Can't believe you have yours already I ordered a few days ago and mine isn't here yet... I've been waiting years for a new Tufte book.

Even better, attend any of Tufte's one-day seminars $360 (students $180) and receive copies of all four books at no extra charge, seems like quite a deal to me.

I pre-ordered from Amazon, and it lists my delivery date as "August 9, 2006 - August 11, 2006". Uh....?
