• florian's bookmark is the card that came with flowers i once had sent to his classroom (he's a high school chemistry teacher). it says, "in the words of albert schweitzer, i fancy you" -- a quote from our hero, eddie izzard.
  • mine is my monthly commutation ticket from june ($289 for this little piece of paper!). i saved it cos... well, duh. look at it! and dammit if flo isn't catching up to me -- and knowing him, he'll beat me to the end, too. heh heh heh.

I finished it last night!!! Had to get it finished before my teen daughter returns tonight and takes the book away from me! She's been traveling with a student ambassador group, so she's been delayed on reading it. First time I've finished one of the books before she has.

I admire you being able to share a book. I just read my copy last weekend and turned it over to my wife. I had to exercise discipline to keep from reading the whole thing in one sitting. When I was younger and even more geeky that I am now, I used to call in sick to work so that I could finish a book I was reading. I have a bit more patience now.

awww - I can't imagine sharing a book though, as when i get one i like i can't put it down - i read this in a day on thursday - mixed feelings about it - it grabs you and keeps you in... but... anyway!
Love the orange mood here and good to see your book markers are also mementos from moments in life - I usually use postcards!

This is too sweet! I love your descriptions of the book marks. My husband and I used to read books like that at the same time. We haven't done that in a long time. My son loves the Iron Giant movie. Sounds like you're going to have a great day! I can't wait to see The Simpsons. Enjoy...

Mine arrived at home while I was traveling in Colorado. We did a red-eye home last night, so haven't even been able to think about reading it yet. Thanks, all, for not giving anything away. Everywhere we went in CO, there were people carrying this book...airports, restaurants...too funny b/c they were almost all adults! =))

    Awww.. :)

I have been slowly converting my wife to reading books regularly.. though I never use bookmarks (gasp!).. I just (sigh, I'm never gonna live this down).. fold down the corner of the page .. and that too, for a book borrowed from the library! (Yes, I am ashamed of myself )
