it'll be ok, my sweet baby girl

    Prev Next

UPDATE: she's fine. out of surgery, groggy, and still here. :-)

    ~

i just got a call from the vet. i'd brought isabel in this morning for a relatively normal procedure (the butt-dragging was an indication, and i'll leave it at that). it turns out she needs emergency surgery. now. as in, she's in surgery as i write this.

the doc, whom i like very much, said she should be ok.

    but damn.

    DAMN.

    my baby girl.

    :-(

I've been away too long, have missed the happenings of the lives of my friends.

So glad this turned out well.

      I'm glad she's okay.

Give her a cuddle for me when you can, okay? I'm missing my Puddin' right now.

Sometimes, not being a veterinarian, its hard for me to wrap my brain around certain things. I've had cats as pets for years, but i guess you never know everything about them. Only a year or two ago did i even find out that cats HAD anal glands! A friend of mine adopted a kitty that had "overactive" anal glands...you can guess what that means, yuck.

Anyway, gorgeous photo, and i am so glad your kitty friend is okay!

I am a great cat lover too :-)

      those eyes!
I'm sure she'll be fine and recover completely. Impacted anal sacs can be a pain in the butt.

i just brought her home. the incision is HUGE! easily an inch long, with 5 or 6 stitches (not the kind that dissolve, but the kind that have to come out in 2 weeks). she's upstairs now, hiding under the bed. but she's home, and that's just the best thing that's happened all day. (and it was actually a really good day.)

thanks for all the flickrlove, you fabulous people you.
