Coed Aber Eden
This small area of woodland is owner by Coed Cadw, The Woodland Trust, and lies opposite Coed y Brenin near Dolgellau in North Wales. It is an ancient semi-natural woodland made up of predominantly ash and hazel. The woodland lies next to, and is a continuation of the oak woodlands of Gallwyd. Most of the older trees, such as oak, have been felled over the years so most of the population is relatively young, including birch in the lower section. The wood is quite steep with a good, clear track running in a circular path. This wood is a gift if, like me, you enjoy shooting towards the sun. It is well worth a visit as you can cover the entire wood in about one hour.
