A heavily armed perennial shrub grows up to 3 meters in height. Flowers are seen in terminal spikes, bright yellow, unisexual; fruits inflated pods, contain 2-3 seeds.
This plant has thorns everywhere so your cloth will be pierced if you will not take much care while approaching it. It grows on the bank of road, river and other water streams. The soft tip of the new stem is edible and tastes sour; in school days we plucked them from roadside.
May be Caesalpinia mimosoides but failed to gather more information.
