Garden 1/52 Flamenco Cyclamen
OK New Years Resolution to take more photos for myself (not portrait clients) and post them on Flickr. So here goes throw myself in at the deep end and try and do a 52 week challenge that has to have photos taken from my garden. They are allowed to be of anything that takes my fancy that week with the only rule being it has to be taken in my garden. Hopefully it will also document the passing of the seasons.
This was taken with my Nikon/Pentax frankenstein machine (the first time I have used this combo in anger, I need to find my old wideangle to see how high I can increase the magnification. At this magnification it covers about a quarter of the frame that using my 1:1 105mm macro does)! Essentially it is using the body of D7000 (ISO 400) with 65mm of extension added with a reverse mounted Pentax 50mm F2.0 lens on the front. It was taken at maximum aperture of f22 and using an SB800 up close (more or less near the end of the lens and no diffuser used) at either 1/32 or 1/64 power. Needless to say this flower is SMALL and no cropping has been carried out. ps. if you look really closely you can see a tiny mite where the stem of the flower meets the bulge of the flower structure.
