'Iron Haystacks' - Newborough, Anglesey
It's been a welcome sight to have the true dark night skies back upon us here on the 53rd latitude in N Wales... So I managed to get a brief moment of clear sky 2 weeks ago to go out and snap the Milky Way locally...
And therein lies the problem again, its so difficult in the UK to put any kind of distance away from light pollution, so rather than driving miles and miles, I snapped this around 3miles away from one of the major towns here, Caernarfon. You ideally need to be about 70miles away from any light pollution to completely remove it.. yeah I wish... Ireland is even within that distance.
Now that I'm halfway pleased at the detail I can get out of the Milky Way, even with considerable light-pollution, I'm really yearning to get out somewhere dark, properly dark! Iceland in a few days... (but that's on a full-moon anyway, sigh!)
