Hoover Tower at Stanford University

The red tile roofs of Stanford University are very evident from the air - and are a product of the Gladding McBean factory, which is the subject of a set of images elsewhere in my Flickr stream.

Look at all those red roofs! When I lived and worked in San Jose, every other Friday night I'd pick up a friend of mine from the trolley barn where he worked at the San Jose Historical Museum (where I volunteered on Sundays) and we would drive up to the old Standford movie theater. We'd enjoy dinner before, a wonderful classic movie, then go to gelato or ice cream afterwards. Always a memorable night out centered around that amazing movie theater!

Just enjoyed a tour of Stanford. Born & raised in San Mateo, now in Orlando so chances our son will select UCF as his 1st choice. Go Knights!

Some of my china has Gladding McBean written on it. They owned Franciscan China. Back in the day when we made china in the US instead of importing all of it!!!
