Macro Variations 5
Spent yesterday doing a test set of macro variations using a test bug I happen to still have left over from the autumn. It's not the prettiest of bugs but the aim of the exercise was more about lighting and background rather than subject beauty.
This variation uses a polystyrene cup over the lens with lighting from left and right. Works well to get full coverage over the eyes but covering the tip of the jaw is trick, the light just doesn't get that far forward. Putting black electrical tape over parts of the polystyrene did remove the hotspots though which was a big win.
