Os Gatos [The Cats]

E a outra?

Along the years, 11 cats have shared our apartments. In the beginning there were the Two Brothers, Obelix and Psi. Later Pim arrived, rescued from Gloria Marina where we found her injured. The vet advised us that she should stay at home for a couple of weeks until she was better. She's still with us today.

Psi passed away before I got my first digital camera. Obelix lived a little longer, but died in 2006. Only Pim remained. Those were peaceful times... but they didn't last long.

One fine afternoon, the Burmese Mikita arrived in the apartment. She'd not been treated well by her previous owner. She seemed to adjust well to her new home, and put on some weight. And some more. And some more. And so, 8 weeks after her arrival, she gave birth to 6 kittens: Yami, Yuki, Mizu, Nunki, Panda and Pandora. We didn't want to separate them completely, and no-one wanted a pair of kittens so...

And the eleventh? Well, she was called "Nono". We found her abandoned and starving in a car-park close to home. She was probably about 2 months old. Of course it would be crazy to have nine cats at home, but we found someone who wanted to adopt her. She's now called Amelie and very happy in her new home.
