Panther Beach Stormy Sunset - Davenport, California
A quick post from tonight. The rain has been on and off, and just when I thought the possibility of an evening shoot was out of the question, some sun started peeking through an opening in the clouds. I had cleaned the filters and packed the bag earlier, so I was off in a flash.
When I first arrived at Panther Beach, I knew the rains could still come, and they did. Of course, the light was awesome while it was raining, but let me tell you, this beach is so sweet, there are sea caves everywhere, and I just ducked under until breaks in the clouds would pass overhead and the rain would let up. I would then scramble out, set up, and shoot as much as I could until it rained again.
Once the golden light was gone, I headed through the hole in the wall to the northern end of the beach for some possible "last light" shots, knowing they may best be suited for black and white. This is one of the last ones from tonight.
And yes, I finally shot at Panther Beach proper.
