Made a return trip to the waterfall at Trace Creek in Hickman County, TN, last night. This was my third trip, but first one in the evening, at sunset. There were a few surprises on this visit, one being that there was still plenty of water in the creek. As dry as it has been, it would not have surprised me for it to be totally dry. That was good!
Another was how many leaves had already fallen and started coating the rocks beneath falls. Normally, I would have made this image black and white, but the leaves did not stand out as much, so the color stayed!
A somewhat disappointing surprise was how folks had used rocks to dam up the area below the falls so that water pool could be higher, most likely for those who might use it for wading, sitting and cooling off from the heat. I get it, and the water did feel good, but I prefer things to be natural and it was terribly obvious that that part was not.
Allin all, another great trip to the falls. Will make another one when the leaves change color and see what the place looks like then. It's turning into a nice go-to place!
