Double Rainbow over Millstream Park.

    Newer Older

A big thunderstorm blew through town a few nights ago and shortly thereafter a really nice rainbow appeared. I hurried up and got my camera gear and rushed to the park to see if I could get a few shots before it vanished. Not only did it not vanish, but a nice double rainbow appeared as well. But unfortunately in my haste to get set up, I forgot to check the white balance and sure enough every photo was so "warm" they were almost brown in color. I tried to cool them down somewhat in Nikon Capture NX 2.

Beautiful! such a wonderful thing to see a rainbow but to get a double one is amazing.
Great shot Jeff. Nice seeing that house to give more interest to the scene.

Nice capture Jeff. To bad about the white balance. Just a tip, if you shoot in RAW you don't have to worry about that. You can change it to whatever you like in your RAW converter.

Michael Shake Thanks Michael....The only reason I've shied away from shooting in RAW is the tremendous amount of space it takes up on my card and my hard drive. I certainly regretted not doing so after this experience!

Been there, done that, LOL. I shot a whole day's worth of Nassau pictures in the wrong WB mode on a little point-and-shoot and ended up with turqouis blue photos...
