SW1500 Walkaround
In 2007, Navajo Mine Railway acquired a pair of former Union Pacific SW1500 diesel switchers from Larry's Truck & Electric. After the deal was made, all UP markings were painted out and both locomotives stenciled with N M Rwy's AARX reporting marks before being moved to Thoreau, NM on the BNSF. From there they were loaded on heavy-hauler rigs and transported up to Fruitland, New Mexico.

I photographed these units inside and out in July 2007.

For information on their background, see this link: www.utahrails.net/up-diesel-roster/up-diesel-roster-25.php

After refurbishment and repainting, these locomotives went to work on the mine railway.
