San Francisco Conservatory of Flowers #1

The San Francisco Conservatory of Flowers opened to the public in 1879. It survived the 1906 earthquake with no significant damage. In December 1995 a violent windstorm caused so much damage that it had to be closed to the public. After a 25 million dollar reconstruction / restoration project, it reopened to the public in September 2003.
