10:10:10 on 10/10/10 - "Give Me A Little More Time"

    Newer Older

I marked this auspicious day on my calendar and wanted to commemorate it somehow, but couldn't decide what to do. About 10:00 a.m. I decided to photograph every time piece in the house. In the process, I learned:

    1. No two time pieces in this house have the same time
    2. We have at least one time piece in each room of the house
    3. You can't use the flash on digital LED clocks - the numbers disappear !
    4. When you're trying to photograph 10+ things in a few minutes there's no time to set up the shot and no time for "do-overs".
    5. I really need to get out the dust cloth and give the place a good cleaning ! The dust motes show up really well in the high res macros.

..and I only cheated on the watches - they have dead batteries - so when I set them to 10:10 they stayed there... :)

It's not too late for you to submit your 10/10/10 Photo to one of the Groups listed by flickr on the home page (see my Group postings for this image)

Hope your "ten ten ten" was a good one !

From my Flickr contact CPMcGann I saw a puzzle today -- with the addition of one line, 101010 becomes 950.

Awesome and creative! And you have 13 months to plan for 11/11/11 11:11!

      Thats' good!

I figured I couldn't let the date slip by; the next one is a hundred years away and I know I won't be around!

What a great idea! We have more than 40 clocks, so this would be quite an undertaking for me.

Creative idea Jill. I'd have cheated, took my time and just set the clocks back to 10:10:-))). After finding out flash obliterates LED numbers, I'm sure you must have had to reset at least a couple of clocks??

10 - 10 and ten minutes to 2 is where they seem to set all the clock hands for pictures. Nice idea here for the 10/10/10 date.

      hahhahahahahhahahahhahahha

I love your narration! lol.....im usually only in my house when it's dark and im looking at the computer so don't notice the dust much.........lol................i have 10 rooms and 10 clocks if you count the ones on the stove and microwave and all the computers.

super creative idea i like it alot and considering your time constraints id say you did an excellent job setting them all up. I NEVER wear a watch. im pretty good at just guessing what time it is usually. i do however lose track of time when im on the Flickr site!
