Over 12,500 people took over the “La Avenida Rius” to attend Barceiona’s Color Run. The Color Run was born in the United States two years ago and has become a true mass phenomenon internationally. More than 30 countries and 200 cities worldwide have already participated.
The Color Run is an event series and five kilometres paint race that takes place in North America, South America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. The untimed event has no winners or prizes, but runners are showered with colored powder at stations along the run.
The Color Run draws heavily from India's Holi Festival, and was founded by Utah native and event producer Travis Snyder, in an effort to encourage professionals and novices to run together for fun. Ref: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Color_Run
