Through The Clouds [Explore 31 March 2009]

Explore 31 March 2009.

My FIRST photo on Explore Interestingness since joining flickr on 27 January 2009.

Seeing two very powerful lightning strokes hitting my predicted space and hearing very loud thunder, I knew that this was the MOMENT!

The two main strokes in the photo--by far the brightest parts--are called the return strokes. The return strokes produce the very bright light and the heat, which causes a rapid expansion of the air which makes the thunder clap.

The original version with trimming into square format.
