Morning Commute - 7 am
This is a shot of Grand Central Terminal in New York City taken during the morning commute. I didn't have a tripod (probably would have been harassed by police if I did) so I set my camera on top of a marble railing and managed to get a reasonable exposure without blurring the main elements of the shot. I wanted to use a slower shutter speed to blur some of the people to indicate the morning 'rush'.
What I find interesting about this image is how the lights one either side seem to form a diagonal pointing down to the clock, and similarly there are similar, but less obvious diagonals pointing up at the clock from the position of the people walking through the terminal.
The image was originally shot in color, but I think black and white suits it better.
