Dad's Ford (Explored 4/24/12)
I miss many things about Dad, including his storytelling.
One of my favorites in his repertoire was of the used Ford he had purchased in perhaps the early 1960's, where he had basically driven the car off the lot, when the transmission dropped out at an intersection.
According to Dad, a police officer had come up to his car, had him roll down the window, and asked him to move his car.
Dad told the policeman he could not... and so on. I won't continue the story out of deference to my late father's storytelling abilities, and I'm butchering it already.
On the way back home from installing some pictures for this Friday's show in Lincoln Square, I spotted this 1959 Ford Galaxie from the bus, deboarded, walked up the street, shot some frames...and thought of Dad.
