Ambani House July 2010

    Newer Older

A view of Mukesh Ambani's skyscraper/house from Altamount Rd at dusk. Mumbai, July 2010. While taking the picture, some random man tried to stop me. Not sure why the sensitivity, but there seem to be very few pictures of this available.

Hé strange, waw interesting, contrast, symetry, hanging gardens etc. etc., of course we would like to see more and know more about this amazing project, both enchanting and strange a fortress of the XXIst century, ... and why do this famous family require that much space or why do the owners choose for this kind of setting and other weird remarks, comments, automatic questioning come in mind indeed ...
For sure world's most exceptional down-town and multifunctional 'pied à terre' ...
It seems already to be almost a mythical building in India and it might be listed soon as a milestone building within the records of modern time architecture ... ?

Great shot. I designed the sun shutters on this building and I am very very proud to see the building is looking complete. You are right about there not being many photos out there.

@brass|MAGAZINE - Sure, happy to help.

@gonacho - Thanks. Nice that you were able to contribute to something that is becoming known as a Mumbai landmark.

I can't help thinking this is one of the ugliest buildings I've seen in a long time. Saw it on BBC News and you're right, not many photos about. I tried to think where I've seen something similar and yep, Rotterdam. Rotterdam meets communism with loads of cash and stuff. I hardly think it can be comparable to the Taj Mahal or the Palace of Versailles like they are bragging. Sorry can't be positive.

That's a beautiful shot. I was wondering if I can use this picture in a textbook for 11 year old children. I am working with a children's textbook publisher in India.
