Chicago Navy Pier

Originally built in 1916 to serve Lake Michigan freighters and provide transportation to other cities on the Great Lakes. In 1941 the Pier was converted for military use and used throughout World War II. The Navy Pier was revitalized in the late 80's and is now a convention, cultural and recreation center for Chicago’s.
