gimp: new guides by percentage, then shift and duplicate the guides. positioned and resized each layer to guides, which left me with pixel differences on the edge. select all, shrink 31 pixels, invert selection, then fill white around the edge to clean up off-by-one alignments. These layouts always strike me as harder than they should be.
