Study in Red

Trying to look for human subjects when out on the street lately. I know I have many contacts who are really good at this, so thanks for your inspiration!

3.Two Red areas on the bus.

My only suggestion is to get out the ultra wides. People have no idea what you are doing then. You can get right up to people and you can be looking at another object and still get time in. 20mm or wider on FX or 14mm on DX would be my street maximum. It is all up to you. When I would go into China Town I liked the 17mm best, you could get everything and every person in it. I just may dig out a few I did like that and post them in the next week or two.

    Thanks all!

Jim, I'll definitely try some wide focal lengths out there. I really like exaggerated perspectives. Thanks for the info!

Hah, interesting capture. I think we're our own worst enemy when shooting street. We can be timid and afraid of taking a shot because of how a stranger may react. Which is understandable.

That's what I like about it though. It makes capturing a great moment that much worth it.

Having said that, can't wait to see what you cook up!
