JWA 2010 Institute for Educators
Photographs of JWA's 2010 Institute for Educators. From July 25 through July 29, the Jewish Women's Archive hosted 26 educators from across the country for four days of intensive professional development designed to enrich their teaching with the compelling stories of American Jewish lives, past and present. The 2010 Institute focused on JWA's Living the Legacy curriculum, which examines the role of Jews in the Civil Rights Movement in America. This photo set includes images of participants sharing objects that represent important Jewish women in their lives; seminars and group discussions; oral historian Jayne Guberman interviewing Freedom Rider Judith Frieze Wright; a Jewish Gospel performance by Yavilah McCoy; and participants receiving their Women of Valor poster set "diplomas."
