From Janet Zerlin Fagan:
This photograph is of my mother, Helen Goldberg (later Zerlin), as a young girl, with her parents (standing) Jules Goldberg and Sarah Shlufman (later Slipman), and Sarah's mother, Hinda (Weintraub) Shlufman (seated).
They all lived on South Rampart Street in New Orleans. Jules was a tailor and they lived above their shop. Sarah's three siblings all owned and lived in their own tailor shops/clothing stores on South Rampart Street. Hinda periodically lived in each home. Hinda was very gentle and my mother adored her.
Sarah and the Shlufman family immigrated from Warsaw and Jules and the Goldberg family came from Odessa. Sarah and Jules met on the boat, The SS Majestic. They moved to New Orleans in order to follow Sarah's family there.
Photograph from c.1932.
