Joe's Crazy Burnout
Strobist Info: SB800 camera left into white umbrella (you can kind of see the catch light on the bike) and SB8800 bare behind and camera right. Triggered with Cactus V2s.
I'm revisiting HDR now that I've upgraded from the D70 to the D300, and I've got to say that I'm quite pleased with the results. I don't want to get sucked back into using HDR all the time - but it's a nice tool for the toolbox, especially for shots like this.
I can't say for sure because I was focused on shooting, but I heard that this guy went through 5 gears for this burn out. The whole damn parking lot was filled with smoke by the end of it, and there was enough rubber on the ground that you could feel it when you walked over it!
This was taken at The Villa during my Bike Night Open Photo Shoot last Wednesday. The turn out was great so I'll be doing it again on August 6th. Stay tuned for the flyer and event details!
