20110501 - Osaka - Ikuno Ward - Tsuruhashi

Tsuruhashi is the largest Korean town in Japan, where a large number of Korean people are living. Many families from Korea have lived in the Tsuruhashi district of Osaka for three generations or more. Many Koreans came to Japan prior to World War II when Japan invaded Korea. A 300-meter-long shopping street situated between JR Tsuruhashi and Momodani Stations is called Miyuki-dori Shopping Street, with about 150 Korean food stores (selling Korean pickles, Korean-style pancakes etc.), Korean restaurants and ethnic clothing stores. Try the best Kimchi & Korean BBQ in Japan here.

Access: 1 min walk from Tsuruhashi Station (JR Loop Line)

Location: Shimoajihara-cho, Tennoji-ku, Osaka-shi
