2011-12 (TH) Holidays in The Land of Smiles
My second trip to the Land of Smiles and checked out Pattaya, Phuket, Phi Phi Islands, Krabi, Koh Samui, and Bangkok. I travelled by Tuk Tuk, Speadboat, Commercial Air, Small Prop Planes, Skytrain, and my new favorite Scooter! Scooter is 200 Baht a day ($6 USD) is quick and easy to control and great way to see everything. I just had to remember, stay in the left lane!

My traveling buddy Storey just happened to be in Bangkok with Jen. We got together for some of the trip and had a great time. The rest of the time I traveled solo and just explored, relaxed, and enjoyed one of my favorite places on this planet.

Big highlight of this trip was seeing the wild monkeys on Phi Phi Islands and Krabi. Touching the Monkeys' hands and watching mannerisms... WE ARE ALL PRIMATES! The Phi Phi Islands was where the movie "The Beach" was filmed, and it really was a beautiful place. It was also the place that was hit hard by the Tsunami back in 2004, but looks to be back to normal now and excellent place to Kayak, Snorkle, and visit with the Monkeys.

Bangkok is an entire different animal than the rest of the places I visited. It was seriously like we were all cockroaches moving through a densely packed trash can. All of the good streetside food and bars were the same as other places in Thailand, just way more of them, tons of people, and a sewer smell from time to time (not sure if that was the norm or because of the flood). Don't get me wrong, I would recommend for people to go to Bangkok just don't expect the beautiful scenery, charm, and smiles compared to the beach communities in Thailand.

Best trip I have ever been on! If you come across these photos and have questions, I would be more than happy to share my experience and trip advice, just shoot me an email.

Khwaam Thaeht! (Happy Holidays!)
