This retired railroad crossing signal is next to the Salisbury Point Rail Station Museum and Historic Site in Amesbury MA. I came across it walking around tonight when I was looking at the building behind me. The sky was about an hour and a half after sunset but the lights from Newbuyrport kept the horizon bright.
I made a mistake when I took this and started shooting at f/11 forgetting that I usually shoot stars at f/8. This is a combination of 4 exposures: 3 min, f/11; 10 min, f/11; and two 10 min, f/8; all at 125 ISO. The stars trails were combined in Photoshop using statistics and the small gaps between exposures were blended away.
The signal lights were lit in the 3 minute exposure with the red LED in my flashlight for 45 seconds each.
