How important are blogs in your web marketing strategy?
I've compared Gartner.com, forrester.com and web strategy blog using compete.com.
Although corporate blogs aren't trusted, they sometimes can have more traffic than the corporate websites. In this case, the web strategy blog has more traffic than gartner.com, which some would say is one of the leaders in the analyst space.
Of course, we need to be realistic, as this may be an in balance as a majority of page views in Gartner or Forrester sites may be post login --so it's not really a fair comparison.
What's important to note however, is that if a blog's goal is to demonstrate thought leadership, then having more awareness to your blog (providing people aren't hating you) can somewhat be measured by traffic, in addition to other attributes.
